David Ross is an experienced professional who brings over two decades of expertise in working with at-risk youth and underserved communities. As the Richfield Place Connect Coordinator, David is committed to making a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.
David holds an MBA from Phoenix University and an undergraduate degree in Administration of Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University. His educational background and extensive experience have equipped him with the knowledge and skills needed to address the complex challenges faced by at-risk youth. David’s career has spanned various sectors, including juvenile justice, social services, and mental health.
His dedication to helping others shines through his certifications in Youth Mental Health First Aid, REVIVE, Five Bridges, Talk Saves Lives, and Therapeutic Options. David is not only a certified trainer but also a facilitator, leading the Wise Guyz Program at Greenwood Elementary School, Brookland, and Wilder Middle Schools on a weekly basis. Through these programs, he empowers young individuals to navigate life’s challenges and become the best versions of themselves. In his spare time, David showcases his entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating Delectable Delights Catering. Yolanda Hall is a native New Yorker whose journey has been marked by a dedication to education, counseling, and community wellness. Yolanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also earned a Master of Education in Guidance and School Counseling.
In her current role with Henrico Area Prevention Services, Yolanda has spent the past year as the Environmental Strategies Coordinator, following five successful years as the Prevention Coordinator at the NACo award-winning Richfield Place Connect Program. Prior to her prevention work, she dedicated 15 years to serving as a School Counselor at both middle and high school levels, including two years on a military base, and seven years as a School Counseling Director.
Yolanda’s expertise extends to being an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Interface Master Trainer. She is also qualified to facilitate training in various crucial curricula, including Adult Mental Health First Aid, 5 Bridges to Wellness, AFSP Talk Saves Lives, NAMI Ending the Silence, and One Circle Foundation programs.
Beyond her professional roles, Yolanda is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also serves as a Youth Counselor and Marriage Mentor at St. Paul’s Baptist Church and is a board member of the Live Red Foundation. Yolanda is a wife and mother to two teenage daughters. Kendell earned his Bachelor of Education degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Human Services with a focus on Marriage and Family from Liberty University.
Currently serving as a Prevention Coordinator at Coventry Garden Apartments with Henrico Area Prevention Services for the past year, Kendell brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his role. Prior to his current position, he dedicated a decade of service as a Health Educator in the Virginia Department of Health – Adolescent Unit.
Kendell’s qualifications include being a certified trainer in Mental Health First Aid for both Child and Adult, Talk Saves Lives, Revive, and Prepare Enrich – Marriage and Pre-Marriage Assessment. His professional achievements also include holding the designation of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in both Adult and Child services. Kendell is a proud member of 100 Black Men of America, reflecting his commitment to community engagement and mentorship.

Michael Harris is a native of Richmond, VA, whose commitment to community wellness spans a remarkable 29 years with Henrico Area Prevention Services. Michael’s educational journey led him through Virginia Tech to Norfolk State University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, and to Virginia State University to earn a Masters of Economic Degree, shaping the foundation for his extensive career in prevention.
Currently serving as the Violence Prevention Coordinator for the past year, Michael’s dedication to creating safer communities is evident throughout his career. Prior to this role, he spent a year as the Environmental Strategies Coordinator and an impressive 28 years as a Prevention Coordinator at the Richfield Place Apartments Connect Program. Before joining the prevention services, Michael gained valuable experience in the corrections system.
Michael is a qualified trainer in Mental Health First Aid, ALS PALS, Botvin Life Skills, and RIPP curricula, showcasing his commitment to staying current with effective prevention strategies. Rodney Gore is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to community wellness. Rodney pursued his education at Norfolk State University, earning a Bachelor of Science, and later continued his academic journey at Old Dominion University earning a Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling. With a remarkable tenure of 30 years with Henrico Prevention Services, Rodney serves as the Coordinator of the Oakland Village Connect Program, where his dedication to community empowerment and support shines.
Rodney is a qualified trainer in various critical curricula, including Mental Health First Aid for both adults and youth, ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences), and TOVA (Therapeutic Options). His expertise extends beyond prevention work, as he brings prior experience as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to his role.

As a Life Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, he was honored as the Omega Man of the Year in 2023 for his exceptional community service. Additionally, Rodney serves as the Director of Community Engagement at the Community Christian Center, where he received the Rhoda Lewis Award. He is the Board Chairman of Team Loaded Foundation, earning the Tytrail White Community Service Award in August 2023. Rodney’s commitment to community empowerment is further acknowledged by the Transformation VA, where he received the Empowerment Award for Community Service in December 2023.
